Volunteer with us!
We are currently looking for volunteers who will be matched with a woman using the service at Dundee Women’s Aid. You will meet up with this woman on a 1:1 basis and work with her so she feels more connected in the local community.

Volunteer Opportunity: Connecting Women Volunteer
This is a brilliant time to get involved in Dundee Women’s Aid as we begin to develop a new scheme connecting women in the local community. As part of this, volunteers will:
  • Be matched with a woman who has or is using the support services provided by DWA
  • Meet up with a woman (and possibly her children) on a regular basis (at least three times a month) to support a woman to identify and build upon her strengths and to provide the woman with a connection in the local community
  • Support a woman in identifying and developing an area(s) she’d like to work on e.g. joining a group, developing skills etc
  • Complete paperwork
  • Keep in contact and meet up with the volunteer coordinator on a regular basis
  • Attend events and help to organise social activities with other volunteers and women using the service.
  • Commitment to a minimum of 8 hours a month. A commitment of at least one year is preferred.

Given the nature of the work that DWA undertakes you will also need to have a PVG Scheme Record. Full support will be given in completing this form and it is also free of charge.
Women only need apply under Schedule 9 (Part 1) of the Equality Act 2010.
