Volunteer with us!
We are currently looking for volunteers who will be matched with a woman using the service at Dundee Women’s Aid. You will meet up with this woman on a 1:1 basis and work with her so she feels more connected in the local community.

Volunteer Opportunity: Connecting Women Volunteer
This is a brilliant time to get involved in Dundee Women’s Aid as we continue to develop a new scheme connecting women in the local community. As part of this, volunteers will:
  • Be paired with women who have or are using the support services provided by Dundee Women’s Aid
  • Meet up with women 1:1 (and possibly their children) on a regular basis (at least once a month) to provide them with a connection in the local community.
  • Be part of a group who organises and attends events and activities alongside other volunteers and women who are using/have used the service.
  • Support women with what they’d like to do e.g. going out for coffee, joining a group, developing skills, confidence etc.
  • Complete paperwork in relation to this role
  • Keep in contact and meet up with the volunteer coordinator including regular support sessions (every 6-8 weeks)

  • A willingness to learn
  • Empathetic and who enjoy working as part of a team
  • Have a commitment to the aims and values of Dundee Women’s Aid
  • Able to talk to and relate to people from all walks of life
  • Understanding of importance of confidentiality and maintaining boundaries

Given the nature of the work that DWA undertakes you will also need to have a PVG Scheme Record. Full support will be given in completing this form and it is also free of charge.
Women only need apply under Schedule 9 (Part 1) of the Equality Act 2010.
